Opioid Misuse Prevention
Opioid misuse and opioid use disorder can have long term and devastating effects on the individual, their family and the wider community. Effects of opioid misuse and opioid disorder include: weakened immune systems, increased risk of HIV, hepatitis and other infectious diseases, collapsed veins or clogged blood vessels, hallucinations and death. Opioid use disorder is a chronic but treatable brain disease, and in many cases, preventable.
